Service provided by street cars, light rail, buses, cable car and electric trolley buses throughout the city of San Francisco.
The historic street cars run on tracks on Market Street (F line) to the Castro and along Embarcadero to Fisherman's Wharf.
The light rail or street cars (J, K, L, M, N, S and T lines) start underground in Metro stations and then rise above ground to various neighborhoods. A popular line N will take visitors near the entrance to Golden Gate Park.
The diesel-run bus routes travel the majority of San Francisco's lines.
The historic cable car has 3 lines: Powell & Hyde, Powell & Mason and the California. The Powell & Hyde and Powell & Mason lines run from Powell and Market to Fisherman's Wharf. The California line runs from California at Market Street to Van Ness Ave.
Sixteen electric trolley buses also run another 60 lines in San Francisco.
